wow

Today has got to be the most boring day, in... a really long time now.
the weather is dreary, cold, grey and wet. i feel hungover, and i didn't drink a drop last night.
i have nothing to do, except sewing the bottom tiers to a petticoat, which i finished. i have to do a bunch of other stuff, but i can't get myself to do it. Did i mention it's raining outside? yukh.
Not even baking is helping me, and i know i'm not going out tonight, by a lack of money.
Maybe i should play some guitar or sing. Maybe i should explain why i don't write the i with a capital. Because i hate it, it makes me look more important than i am. So that's why, when i'm writing something non-formal, i don't do it.

Little Shop Of Horrors...

OOOhh, here it comes baby,
tell those bums baby...
No oh oh, oh no!

Look around, look who's coming down the street for you
You bet 'cha, you bet your butt,
You bet 'cha
Best believe it something's
Come to get 'cha
Better watch your back and your tail!

We're performing Little Shop of Horrors in my theatre group!!!

Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker Audrey Fulquard, who is being abused by her boyfriend.

One day as Seymour is seeking a new mysterious plant, he finds a very mysterious unidentified plant which he calls Audrey II.
The plant gives Seymour trouble, as it keeps dying on him. He finds out the plant has a craving for blood and soon begins to sing for his supper.
Meanwhile business is booming, because of the influence of Audrey II.
Audrey II promises Seymour, succes and the girl of his dreams.
Soon enough, Seymour is caught in a downward spiral, if he stops feeding Audrey II, he will lose his succes and his Audrey. But is it worth murdering people for?

That's the summary for the musical, it's dark and yet so comical.
There's a movie about it, from 1987, starring Ellen Greene and Rick Moranis, among Steve Martin and even Jack Nicholson.

Rick Moranis as Seymour Krelborn

Ellen Greene as Audrey Fulquard

Steve Martin as Orin Scrivello D.D.S

Baby Audrey II, so how did it get from that...to...

This mean green mother here?

The great news is, I was actually cast as Audrey, which is a grrrrreeaatt part to play! :D I just finished the styling and transformation today, and i'm really pleased with the result. Audrey is a very innocent character, although she wears lots of black and things that show her cleavage, she prefers bright colours, and loads and loads of petticoats. Her dream makes the whole idea of emancipation blow up in your face. She just wants a small house, and a toaster, and a Small Loving Suddenly Succesful Sweet Guy like Seymour. (immortal words.) She's not very strong, and afraid to leave her abusive boyfriend, because she'd rather be punched than to be alone. She has a really low self esteem, and thinks that she actually doesn't deserve a Nice guy. In the end, she gets her dreamguy and this also causes a change in her wardrobe. It becomes more colourful, less cleavage. More innocent, and more Audrey.
.

My first one is a small tight black dress, that can be easily changed by a different belt, or scarf

The second one, is a very brightly colored, floral dress. It will poof up incredibly, with a petty coat. And i will wear it in the 'Somewhere that's Green'-dream song. (: She dreams about being a married housewife, and having tupperware party's, while being dressed in the most ridiculous things.

For when she finally is together with Seymour, i have this blouse. i imagine she would not be able to actually buy the dresses she wears in her dream, but that she'd be happy to wear something lighter and sweeter.
i'll pair this with a highwasted skirt, but i haven't found the right one yet.

Now the last costumechange is optional, but apparently she wears a pyama in the final scene, because she came back to the store to check on Seymour, because she couldn't sleep. If i wear to change for this scene, i'd definately see this as Audreys nightgown.

This is my wig before styling, but i managed to turn it into this Audrey-worthy do:

(: so far, it's all about styling my own character, and honestly i've been sketching some things for the girls, also visible in this blog...
So remember Ellen Greene?
i've tried to fix my personal Audrey transformation, including make up.
Here it is:

This is how i usually look:

not too much of an Audrey I guess... but here's my transformation:

And this is Ellen Greene as Audrey.

Personally i think it turned out really well. (:
and before you start to ask, the thing is supposed to be a black eye, but it needs to be really visible, or else people in the audience won't be able to see it. (:
ohyeah, about the picture i posted in my previous blog.
it's Jasper, he plays Seymour in the play, and he is a delight.
we have soo much fun, it's intoxicating. i just can't stop laughing, and he is such a dramaking. we are always acting, our little scenes and sketches.

Jasper and on the left, our sweet little Audrey II, Paula.
She is really sweet, and not a hungry murdering plant aiming for world domination at all!

our hunky and sadistic rebel dentist, Mick! he is also a sweetheart in real life, and not a sadistic creep at all!

i'm afraid this one blog has become waayyy too long already, so i'll post the sketches tomorrow. (: this is Audrey Fulquard signing off, lots of love! (:

(:

Today, I had dinner with Linda, who is a fabulous girl!
She's from Latvia, but she is living in Holland for a year...
It's for projects for the European Union, hosted here in Holland by the Richter organisation, which i'm part of. The place Linda, and 2 other volunteers live in, is called the Eurohouse, right above the Art gallery of Richter. Linda, Aga and Douglas help out in the gallery, and give cultural workshops in the highschool of Den Helder.
But Linda is a really great girl:D! She loves photography and she has a really cute accent.
We made a really delicious curry with fish and rice, and had stroopwafel icecream for dessert.
Then we watched a movie. Last week my dear friend Sophie stayed over, and we went thrifting, where i managed to find some really amazing things <3

Does this intrigue you? Then stay tuned for the next blog!!!!!!

Oh yes.

I just had this:

And it tasted absolutely amazing, (: it also inspired me to write this:

This is my morning song,
for when you wake up alone.
Let it brush by your cheeks,
when the dawning sun calls you home

And this is my song for the afternoon,
when this day puts you down,
let it wrap your waist,
where i will put my arms around.

This is my february song,
when the long winter is out of sight,
The spring will play this song for you...
and fill your heart with light.

This is my song,
but it belongs to you...
because through all the deep dark days,
you have helped me through.

This will be my evening song.
When darkness covers the land,
i hope it kisses away your fears,
and holds your hand.

i wrote it to be with music, maybe if i feel like it, i'll record it one day (:
